As Easter is just around the corner, we’ve put together our top activities and recommendations for creative pursuits to keep little ones entertained!
Easter hunts
Nothing says Spring holidays like a good old fashioned Easter hunt. Whether you hide real chocolate, pictures of eggs, or even set up a treasure hunt, setting up a trail in your garden (if you have one), your house, or a local park can be a real highlight of childhood that children will look back on for years to come! Hobbycraft have a free downloadable Easter egg hunt clues set, while the BBC have this great guide if it’s your first foray into egg hunting. If you’re looking for a hunt with a twist, Good Housekeeping also has this fun guide for unusual Easter egg hunts.
Easter colouring and printables
Orchard Toys has a lovely selection of free easter printables for colouring, and to enhance your at home egg hunt! Peter Rabbit also has a range of free Easter activities designed with the cheeky little rabbit himself front and centre, from mazes to colouring. You’ll also spot some fab printables over on Crayola, as well as bingo cards and word searches.
Easter crafts
Another great activity for the Easter holidays, crafting offers plenty of opportunities to develop fine motor skills while keeping little minds (and hands!) busy. As above, Orchard Toys have some lovely free printable craft packs like this one, as do the team at Peter Rabbit (think leaf collages and DIY garden timers).
Elsewhere, we’ve spotted that The Range have a great selection of how-to guide for Easter bonnets, while Baker Ross are brimming with fun instructional guides for crafty activities, as well as pre-made kits if you’d like some of the hard work done for you. The Works also have a great value range of craft supplies. Finally, Hobbycraft have this fantastic post sharing 20 Easter projects for children to get stuck into!
Easter baking
If you’re not getting tired of sweet treats galore this Easter, BBC Good Food have a great variety of free Easter baking recipes specifically designed for children to follow. We can’t wait to try Easter bunny lemon cupcakes, Easter egg nest cakes and Easter biscuits. Tesco also has a great range of recipes for Easter cooking with kids. For little ones with dietary needs, Sainsbury's have a lovely range of gluten free Easter recipes, while My Allergy Kitchen offer a selection of dairy free Easter recipes.
Like the idea of getting busy in the kitchen, but need a break from the sweet treats? Why not get the whole family involved in making an Easter roast? There are lots of options on the BBC website!
Happy Easter!
