    Staycation Ideas for Young Families

As the UK weather (moderately) warms up, you might just be feeling the subtle nag to get away for a while. With young children in tow, the thought of jumping on a plane may be a bit too much to bear - so we’ve put together our top agents, and destinations, for UK holidays of all budgets.

In all our recommendations we’ve considered the key tenets of a family holiday: child-friendly places to stay, plenty to do, and a true spot of relaxation where possible! Remember, prices increase considerably during school holidays, so make sure to put your dates in to be sure things are affordable for you.

    Top Travel Agent: Tiny Travelship

We love a travel agent who just gets it. Tiny Travelship is brilliant at this, offering a well-vetted range of hotels and destinations to suit most budgets, but most importantly, to properly suit a family holiday. This agency covers all locations, so make sure to choose UK only - after which you can leisurely read reviews, recommendations and loads more.

Top Luxury Hotels: Luxury Family Hotels

One for a really luxury getaway - but with all bases covered. We love the Luxury Family Hotel chain for seriously delivering, UK wide. Think Yoto players in room, milk and cookie film nights, and vetted childcare all included in your cost. Everyone gets a break - even the parents!

    Top Self Catering Stays: AirBnB

A mainstay for good reason, AirBnB is the go-to for families looking to go self-catering to suit a real range of budgets. With customisable options for dog-friendly, number of bedrooms, and local attractions, it’s a great place to begin your search.

    Top Nature Stays: Bluestone Wales

We love Bluestone as a spot for families who want to get stuck into nature. With a range of accommodation types to suit budgets, and a huge variety of activities amongst the Welsh countryside, there’s a reason it’s a national favourite! Equally, consider Center Parcs (but beware, prices hike in school holidays!).

    Top Mid-Range Hotel: Guesthouse Hotels

In a similar vein to Luxury Family Hotels, Guesthouse is a fabulous spot for families. With chains in several locations across the UK, they, too, include a Yoto in their room, and even reading tipis in larger rooms! Several locations have spas, too - why not take it in turns to sneak away when the children are asleep!

Top Theme Park Trip for Younger Travellers: CBeebies Land Hotel

An iconic spot to stay, if you have children aged 6 and below (and to be honest, older children will probably love meeting Bluey just as much). CBeebies Land Hotel is a real winner. With entertainment included, themed rooms, and easy access to the CBeebies Land area of Alton Towers (as well as the rest of the park) and an on site themed restaurant, children will have a truly fabulous time!

Top Theme Park Trip for Older Travellers: LegoLand Resort

Got some lego lovers on board? You’ll be in for a serious bout of joy at LegoLand resort. Stay on site in various options including a Lego castle!

    Have a fab time!

We hope you have a fantastic time on your trip - and if you can think of anywhere else you would love to recommend, give us a shout!
