It’s unavoidable - most of us love a good scroll. Whether it’s unwinding after a long day, looking for clothing inspiration, or simply feeling like someone else ‘gets it’, content creators who are also parents have a unique way of capturing our attention. While we think it’s key not to get stuck into too much comparison, here are our top folk to follow to fill your feed with inspiration, for all different reasons! All creators here have platforms across Instagram and TikTok.
For accessible fashion
Becoming a parent puts a serious strain on your ability to maintain personal style. Baby sick, nappy bags and an inordinate amount of drinks bottles put even the most fashion conscious to their knees. While style inspiration can come from anywhere, anyone, and people of any age, we love following parent creators for inspiration on style that comes from someone who understands this wild life phase. Here are our favourites!
Lily Pebbles (@lilypebbles) is a real go-to for dopamine dressing. With two young kids, she mixes budget friendly tours of what to buy in Tesco with the higher fashion vibes of Ganni. We love her for both. We also love Alexandra Stedman (@alexandara.stedman), ex-fashion editor and lover of second-hand, high-end fashion. For cosy but classic ‘mam fits’, we love Sofy Dobson (@sofynicoledobson), @theonlygirlinthehouse for the best second-hand goodies that still work for football club and school runs, and @charlottejacklin for feminine but practical fashion.
For family finances
Children are not cheap! Whether you were passionate about financial wellbeing before children joined your family or not, you’re likely to find yourself to be much more conscious of where the pennies and pounds go once you have more than yourself to take care of. Many creators feel just the same, and provide valuable content all about just that. Clare Seal (@clareseal) shares all things family finances after getting out of £27k debt. She gives top tips, recommendations and much more for living a values driven financial life. Her co-host Ellie on ‘Help Me I’m Poor!’ podcast is also a parent, and chats all things finance on her platform too - @thisgirltalksmoney. For mental and physical wellness
Parenthood is a ride, no? Whether you’re looking for advice and tips for managing your mental and physical health, or want to feel less alone, we love creators that cover this area. Psychotherapist and mum of three Anna Mathur (@annamathur), author of several books focusing on parental mental health, shares lots of great tips on her Instagram page. We also love Kimberly Nixon (@realkimberleynixon), actress, who shares about her experience of perinatal OCD and neurodiversity. We also love the realness of @gracefvictory for sharing the joys and challenges of modern parenting. Parenting advice (sleep!)
In the thick of it with parenting? Plenty of parenting support businesses out there offer lots of free advice, tips and tricks on social media. We love Calm and Bright Sleep Support for their sleep plans, and they offer lots of tips and tricks for negotiating the wild west that is child sleep patterns (@calmandbrightsleepsupport). We also love Rosey Davidson, Paediatric Sleep consultant, for her guidance and support in this area, alongside toilet training and toddler behaviour (@just_chill_mama).
